Back at It

Hello everyone! Thanks for being patient on the lack of blog entries. We had our usual holiday break, and then we were out and about travelling, and then it seems as if our whole office is fighting off sicknesses. So, I apologize! However, time to get back on the horse.

Here is a quick catch up on park news....

We packaged up the Wacky Worm train on Monday and shipped it off to Minnesota for an overhaul. In the process, it will be turned into a rocket and it and the actual coaster will have a new space theme next year. Fun! If you missed out, we are moving the worm up the hill to be the first attraction you see when you enter Planet Snoopy, and its going to look great! To make room, the old kiddie train will be retired. It was a ride that gave us a ton of problems, and was extremely limiting in who could ride it.

So, when the train returns from the fiberglass workshop I will get some photos, as well as when the actual track and structure make the move.

In other news, around the office lately we have had the pleasure of sampling a lot of new foods, some new, some old but improved. At the moment, I think we are at six new food locations/concepts for 2012, the most I can remember ever being. So, that is fun! I'll have more details once we get that firmed up, but I am really excited!

We are also adding some new games, new live entertainment, new Haunt offerings, and more, so the park is really going to look outstanding this year. Once we start with all of these changes I'll be out and about to show them off. We will announce most of the changes in a release this spring, so I'll let you know when that is ready as well.

Oh, and we're in the process of bidding painting on a couple of big rides. Kinda cool...anybody have some spare painting time? :)

Coaster Christmas

I am! I will hopefully see some blog readers down in Branson, MO for Coaster Christmas, put on by the Heart of America region of the American Coaster Enthusiasts (ACE).

I'll be giving a short presentation on the parks, quickly reviewing our season, and whats to come.

The Off Season is Here

Hey everyone!

The park is getting ready for its long winters nap (some might not classify it as long, opening day is right around the corner!)!

I ran out today to find some coasters.

Here are the Prowler trains getting ready for their rehab. The benches have already been removed and soon they'll head inside to begin dis-assembly.

Patriot and Mamba (and Voyager) are stored at the front gate area. Why? Well, they are rehabbed in our maintenance building, which is right behind the gate area. It makes for an easy staging area.

There are some other small changes happening in the park, but for the most part, its time for a little break.

So, to fill the time, let me know if you have any questions, and I'll be back on Monday! Thanks!

Last Day

Thats it! We're about to wrap up the 2011 season with one final night of Haunt. I hope everyone had the chance to visit the park this Haunt, its my favorite time of year.

It seems so long ago that we were gearing up for opening! Now, this week at the park will be a lot of disassembling and getting the park ready for winter.

Over the offseason I'll be sure to keep you updated on some fun projects, and we'll do Q and A sessions as well, those are my favorite blog entries!

Now, I'm off to help for one more night of Haunt.

Mootisha Makes a Move!

Hey everyone!

I hope everyone is having a great time at Haunt! Can you believe we only have two weekends of operation left! Don't forget, we are open on Thursday, October 27, and open late on Sunday the 30th for a final Haunt night. Check out the operating calendar for details.

Today found Mootisha making her way to a new location in the park. See if you can find her this weekend, and submit your comments to the blog next week and I'll draw a couple winners for Haunt front-of-the-line passes for the park's final weekend.

Want a clue? Even though she's there, there isn't really anything there!

In other news, keep posting pics on our facebook feed for that contest, you could net two FrightLane passes and two tickets. We'll draw Friday!

Oh, and Half Pint Brawlers was truly a bloody good time last weekend. It will be even better I hear this weekend! Be sure to stop on by!

Hey everyone!

I sent emails to the winners of Mootisha...those that guessed on the train route by Prowler's lift were correct! Where will that cow turn up next? :)

In other news, tonight is the night for the premier of hardcore midget wrestling! Oh yes, Half Pint Brawlers takes the ring for three shows Friday and Saturday nights, at 8:30, 10, and 11:30 each night. Here I am testing out the ring earlier today!

Seems sturdy enough. I am going to nail one of them with a flying piledriver and a trash can finishing move.

If you see me at the Brawler show tonight, be sure to say hi and I"ll have something for ya!

Greetings everyone!

Hey everyone!

I hope all is well. We've been out in the park setting up for Haunt. If you were here last weekend you saw some props popping up, and this weekend will be even more. We've got Asylum, BloodShed, Cornstalkers, Doll Factory, and Lore all nearly ready to roll. We're getting there!

For today's entry, I wanted to remind you of a fun promotion we have going on this weekend. Saturday, the first 1000 guests will receive these awesome Charlie Brown bobbleheads! Check him out!

So, come out to the park Saturday morning and grab one for yourself!

Second, we have our Coaster Mayhem photo winner! Congrats to Dustijn for sending in this awesome shot of Bamboozler, and for his efforts, he scores $100 bucks! Here is the winning photo, and thanks to everyone that submitted a shot!

Oh, and if you want to see some Haunt monsters before they make their debut at the park, we'll be participating in the American Royal parade on Saturday morning, September 17, before we round them up and head back to the park for a fun night of fright!

Hello There

We're planning for Haunt..check it out!

Oh, and look at this. This is right up you guys' alley. We have fixed the ol' Fjord up so the arms swing like crazy. If you've ridden the ride lately you might have noticed the swing arms not swinging so much. Now, if anyone can figure out how to mount this to a 300 foot tower let me know.

We'll tweak it a bit and go from there, but its an exciting fix.
