Interested In Auditioning For Our Live Entertainment?

Worlds of Fun is searching for the Midwest’s most talented singers & dancers for our spectacular 2008 season of shows. While most of our performers work June, July, and August only, some positions include weekend work in the spring and fall.  If you work the entire season (six days per week in the summer, and weekends in the spring and fall) you can earn up to $8,000 in wages and bonuses.  Performing at Worlds of Fun can be a great summer job, or even an important step toward a professional career.

WE ARE NOT AUDITIONING BANDS OR INSTRUMENTALISTS.

Please Note:

• Callbacks will be held the same day. Please bring appropriate dance attire.
• You must be at lease 16 years of age by May 8, 2008 to audition.
• Pay scales for performers range from $375 to $450 per week plus bonus.
• Pay scales for technicians, dressers and costumed characters vary by age of employee.
• We do not provide housing, but will assist out-of-town performers in securing a place to live for the summer. We also offer a housing allowance ($100.00 per month during June, July, and August) for performers who relocate from outside the 10-county metropolitan Kansas City area.
• Most casting selections for performers will be made from the audition sites listed below. If you cannot audition in person, you may send a videotape and resume to the address below specifying the dates you will be available. The materials will not be returned.

Audition Information

To the right, you will find a complete audition schedule for 2008. You do not need an appointment. We will audition on a first come/first served basis. When you audition, HAVE FUN!!! Entertain us! If you sing or dance perfectly but lack excitement, you will not get cast. If you have the talent AND demonstrate that you love performing, you have a good shot. Remember that we want you to have a good audition as much as you do.

Singers

Singers, please sing one verse and chorus of two contrasting styles of song; one up-tempo and one ballad. Sing any type of music you enjoy, such as rock, gospel, show tunes, etc. (No Rap.) Please limit your audition to no more than two minutes. YOU MUST PROVIDE YOUR OWN ACCOMPANIMENT whether it is a pianist, a CD or a cassette tape. We will provide a CD/tape player and a piano. A cappella auditions will not be accepted. If you wish to accompany yourself with an acoustic guitar, that is also acceptable. You may not use more than a single musician to accompany your audition. WE ARE NOT AUDITIONING DRAMATIC ACTORS.

Dancers

Dancers, please prepare a jazz routine (no longer than two minutes) and one song to sing. YOU MUST PROVIDE YOUR OWN ACCOMPANIMENT whether it is a pianist, a CD or a cassette tape. We will provide a CD/tape player and a piano. A cappella auditions will not be accepted. We look for dancers who are exciting with an aggressive jazz style. Please do not perform tap or ballet. Your entire audition, including singing and dancing, should not exceed four minutes.

PEANUTS™ Costumed Characters

These lovable costumed characters appear daily in Camp Snoopy, a play area designed exclusively for our youngest guests. Those planning to apply for these positions should keep the following height restrictions in mind: You must be 4’8”-5’2”. Resumes/Applications will be accepted at each audition location or can be mailed in care of the "Live Entertainment Department" at the address listed below.
