Interested in auditioning for our 2012 Live Entertainment?

Casting: singers, instrumentalists, percussionists, comedic actors, jugglers, novelty acts, magicians, fire eaters, contortionists, stage technicians, and costumed characters.

Worlds of Fun is searching for the Midwest’s most talented entertainers, novelty acts, and technicians for our spectacular shows. Performing at Worlds of Fun is a great summer job and and can also be an important step toward a professional career.

• Callbacks for singers will be held the same day. Please bring appropriate dance attire.
• You must be at lease 16 years of age by May 1, 2012 to audition.
• Please limit your audition to three minutes.
• Pay scales for performers range from $375 to $450 per week plus bonus.
• Pay scales for technicians, dressers and costumed characters vary by age of employee.
• We do not provide housing but offer a housing allowance program ($100.00 per month during June, July, and August for performers who relocate from outside the 10-county metropolitan Kansas City area).
• Most casting selections for performers will be made from the audition sites listed below. If you cannot audition in person, you may send a DVD and resume to the address below specifying the dates you will be available. The materials will not be returned.

Singers/Instrumentalists/Percussionists ONLY

• Kansas City, MO - Sunday, February 12: Holiday Inn CoCo Key Water Resort Hotel (I-70 – Blue Ridge Cutoff) - Registration: 9 – 12
• Lawrence, KS - Wednesday, February 15: Kansas University (Kansas Union – Kansas Room) - Registration: 3 – 5
• Warrensburg, MO – Wednesday, February 22: University of Central Missouri (Union – Room 237-B) - Registration: 3 – 5

Instrumentalists/Percussionists/Actors/Comedians/Street Entertainers/Jugglers/Novelty Acts/Magicians/Fire Eaters/Contortionists

• Kansas City, Mo - Saturday, March 3: Tivoli Music Hall at Worlds of Fun - Registration 1 - 4 pm
• Kansas City, Mo - Saturday, March 24: Tivoli Music Hall at Worlds of Fun - Registration 1 - 4 pm

You do not need an appointment. We will audition on a first come/first served basis. When you audition, have fun!  Entertain us!  If you sing or dance perfectly but lack excitement, you will not get cast. If you have the talent and demonstrate that you love performing, you have a good shot. Remember that we want you to have a good audition as much as you do.  

Singers

We will be auditioning for country, pop and rock singers. Please sing one verse and chorus of two contrasting styles of song; one up-tempo and one ballad. (No Rap.) Please limit your audition to no more than three minutes. You must provide your own accompaniment whether it be a pianist or CD. We will provide a CD player and a piano. A cappella auditions will not be accepted. Please check the schedule for audition dates and times.

Instrumentalists

We will be auditioning country musicians for the following instrumental positions: keyboard, guitar, electric bass, and drum kit. A piano will be available at all general auditions, but musicians auditioning on other instruments will need to provide their own. Instrumentalists should audition individually, having prepared two short selections of contrasting styles that demonstrate versatility. Please limit your audition to no more than three minutes total. Complete bands that wish to audition for the country show should contact the Live Entertainment department in advance at the number below. Please check the schedule for audition dates and times.

Percussionists

We will be auditioning percussionists for a drum line that will interact with guests throughout the park. Percussionists auditioning for the drum line should bring a snare drum and cymbal. Please check the schedule for audition dates and times.

Actors/Comedians/Street Entertainers

Prepare a family-oriented, comedic monologue. Theater movement, singing and storytelling skills are a plus. We are looking for energetic and fun personalities with strong improvisational skills. Please limit your audition to 3 minutes. Please check the schedule for audition dates and times.

Jugglers/Novelty Acts/Magicians/Fire Eaters/Contortionists

We are searching for a variety of street performers for both the summer season and Halloween Haunt weekends. Please limit your audition to 3 minutes. Please check the schedule for audition dates and times. 

PEANUTS™ Costumed Characters

These lovable costumed characters appear daily in Camp Snoopy, a play area designed exclusively for our youngest guests. Those planning to apply for these positions should keep the following height restrictions in mind: You must be 4’8”-5’2”. Resumes/Applications will be accepted at each audition location or can be mailed in care of the "Live Entertainment Department" at the address listed below. You may also apply at worldsoffun.com.

Stage Mangers/Sound/Lighting/Technicians/Costumes

Positions available include: lighting/show control, sound, backstage, flyrail, followspot operators and dressers with sewing experience.  Resumes/Applications will be accepted at each audition location or can be mailed in care of the "Live Entertainment Department" at the address listed below.
