The sights, smells, and sounds of the midways return as Worlds of Fun amusement park celebrates 35 years with special events, new food options and games, concerts, and midway renovations.
Worlds of Fun offers new special events during the Celebrate America festivals every Saturday and Sunday in July. These themed weekends include concerts, unique food offerings, special shows, and more.

July 5 - Country Music Concert with Phil Stacey
July 12 - Pop Music Concert with Ryan Cabrera and Kate Voegele
July 19 - HeartFest Contemporary Christian Concert with MercyMe, David Crowder Band, Hawk Nelson, Tenth Avenue North, and Mark Stuart from Audio Adrenaline
July 26 - Joyfest Gospel Concert with Fred Hammond, Marvin Sapp, and Spensha Baker
August 31 - Disney's Jordan Pruitt
MAMBA® celebrates 10 years of thrills in 2008 and Worlds of Fun honors the ride throughout the season with birthday parties, exclusive ride times, DJ’s, an alumni event, and station signage. The new fall Oktoberfest, September 6,7,13, and 14, offers a German festival complete with a beer garden and plenty of live music. The anniversary season concludes with Halloween Haunt, Kansas City’s largest Halloween event, expanding again in 2008.
Midway enhancements, fresh new looks, and renovations continue in 2008 to maintain the beauty of the parks. Hungry guests are tempted with the aroma of fresh cinnamon rolls at the new CINNABON® Bakery, and the smell of fresh roasted treats fills the air from the new Bavarian Nut Stand. Other improvements include a brand new shooting gallery, a test of football skills at Quarterback Challenge, and revamped park merchandise locations, such as a value priced $5-and-under store and a “for girls only” boutique. The quality of restrooms is important to park visitors, so three more restroom locations are remodeled for the 2008 season in addition to the six completed the past two seasons.
Worlds of Fun is now open weekends only, and daily starting Saturday, May 10, 2008 (closed Friday, May 16, 2008). Oceans of Fun is open daily starting Saturday, May 24, 2008. Worlds of Fun Village RV sites, cabins, and cottages open March 3, 2008.
