Worlds of Snow: Picture Gallery

Happy January. It’s cold. The gates are closed, and while we wait for your favorite Kansas City attractions to return this spring, we’re figured we’d take this opportunity to showcase the handsomeness of our charming park with a unique look inside a frosty Worlds of Fun.

There’s something hauntingly beautiful about an amusement park covered in a blanket of white snow. It’s quiet, peaceful and empty – like getting a rare look inside of an abandoned city. Experiencing the park outside of its normal state gives you a unique perspective of the property and its beauty is magnified – proving to be the perfect playground for some snow photography.

Worlds of Fun Snow Photos

Taking pictures of the park is one of my favorite things to do, especially when it snows. Recently, one a very frigged, foggy morning – I grabbed my Nikon and went into the frozen midways to see what my self-taught skills could capture. Here are some of my favorites, including some glamor shots of your favorite Kansas City attractions and roller coasters like Mamba and Patriot.

A Snowy Snake Called Mamba

Snow covers the sign of Mamba, a roller coaster and most popular of Kansas City attractions.

As the tallest and longest ride at Worlds of Fun, Mamba looks striking in the snow. It's red track really sticks out against the white backdrop, and the thick bowl of foggy soup hanging over the ride make for some dramatic shots.

Taken from the parking lot of Oceans of Fun, this really shows how heavy the fog hung over the park and Mamba's 205-ft lift hill.

One of my favorite shots of the day. The lift hill seems endless as it stretches into the sky.

Here's another angle from the bottom of the lift hill but from under Mamba's track. Love the contrast of red and white.

Snow on the Bayou

Snow Photography of a Haunted Kansas City Attractions, Blood on the Bayou

Blood on the Bayou is by far one of the best haunted Kansas City attractions. Since it is only open in the fall during Halloween Haunt, it looks a little strange covered in snow.

Creepy.

Shivering Timbers

Timber Wolf Snow Photography, Kansas City attractions and roller coaster at Worlds of Fun

My favorite ride at Worlds of Fun changes frequently, and Timber Wolf is often in the discussion. This classic wooden roller coaster looks heroic as the "howling" cold rolls in...that's enough puns for now.

Okay. This may be one of my favorite photos I've ever taken. Follow us on Instagram @WorldsOfFun for more great pictures of the park this offseason (including updates on our newest attraction in Ocean's of Fun, Riptide Raceway)!

Red, White & Blue

Snow covers Patriot, one of the top Kansas City attractions

With Windseeker lurking in the fog, Patriot really pops in the snow. Sporting a brand-new paint job for the 2020 season, the red, white and blue of this patriotic coaster look stunning.

The real question, would you be down to ride in the freezing temperatures?

We hope you enjoyed seeing some of your favorite Kansas City attractions in our snow photography gallery. Do you have a favorite?
