Worlds of Fun Raises Starting Pay for Lifeguards

KANSAS CITY, MO – Worlds of Fun, the region’s largest seasonal employer, announced today it is raising starting pay for lifeguards to $15 per hour as it prepares to open Oceans of Fun waterpark for the 2021 season on May 29.

“Lifeguards play an instrumental role in delivering a safe and memorable experience for all of our guests, and providing increased wages helps us attract and retain these team members,” said Tony Carovillano, vice president and general manager at Worlds of Fun. “Wage increases and improved benefits extend to all of our other departments as well as we strive to put people first, both our ambassadors and guests.”

Worlds of Fun offers flexible schedules and many perks for its associates, including discounts, reward and recognition programs, exclusive events and free admission to any Cedar Fair park.

“A seasonal job at our park can offer so much. You can gain valuable experience in a safe environment, develop marketable skills for the future and make new friends while being part of something truly special. And our seasonal team has the opportunity to be rehired for jobs all the way through college and beyond,” Carovillano added.

An in-person, socially distant hiring event will be held at Worlds of Fun from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the following Saturdays: April 17, April 24, May 1 and May 8.

All interested applicants are encouraged to apply online.
