Nightbefore Christmas Kansas City

‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the park,

not a creature was stirring, not even a Snoopy bark;

the stockings were hung by the floral clock with care,

in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.

The rides were nestled all snug in their beds,

While visions of happy guests danced in their heads;

with the hot air balloon sitting tight and the stars shinning bright,

all of Worlds of Fun was closed for a long winter night.

When out on the midways there arose such a clatter,

park security sprung to see what was the matter.

Away the gates they flew like a flash,

In sounded like Mamba was making a midnight dash.

The moon shining bright of this tallest of ride,

gave a luster of a mist thrilling glide;

When, what to their wondering eyes should appear,

but a miniature sled and eight tiny reindeer.

Worlds of Fun Christmas

With the little old driver so lively and quick,

they knew in a moment it was old St. Nick.

More rapid than Prowler his coursers they came,

he whistled and shouted and called them by name.

“Now Dasher, now, Dancer! Now, Prancer and Vixen!

On Comet! On Cupid! On Donner and Blitzen!”

To the top of the lift hill they rode,

ready for the steep drop below.

Through the cold air they screamed,

this ride was everything they had dreamed.

Around the turns, Santa ducked his head;

It was moving much faster than he had read.

After one last series of airtime goodies,

he was happy he didn’t each too much milk and cookies.

As the train came to a stop and they flew out of sight,

Santa screamed out, “A Merry Christmas to Worlds, and to all a good night!”

Don't miss Kanas City's ultimate holiday celebration during WinterFest - open select nights through December 31!
