Scary Good Food Additions to Haunt

Josh Smith

Josh is enjoying his sixth season at Worlds of Fun and his third in the marketing department. He is a recent Northwest Missouri State alum. When he isn't at the park he is cheering on his favorite soccer team, Sporting Kansas City.

The fall season brings in a lot of fun things to do at Worlds of Fun. From heart-pounding mazes with scares at every corner to fog filling in every square inch of the park Worlds of Fun does fall right. If you’re like me, one of the most exciting things about the fall season is treating yourself to some warm, juicy, fall-off-the-bone barbecue and “sipping” on some cold and refreshing adult beverages. Lucky for us, Chef Wesley Boston brought just that to Halloween Haunt this year.

BBQ Rubbed Pork Ribs

First up is my personal favorite; BBQ Rubbed Pork Ribs with a side of Macaroni & Cheese. These pork ribs are rubbed generously with a special BBQ rub and then slow-smoked for hours to perfection. The ribs are then finished off in the oven where they soften up, reaching the perfect fall-off-the-bone texture. These ribs alongside a bowl of creamy macaroni and cheese are the perfect option for anyone looking for a reminder that we are definitely in Kansas City. Try for yourself at Cotton Blossom BBQ!

Fun Fact: This has quickly become one of our most popular items of the season.

Turkey Leg and Mac & Cheese in a Cup

If you are someone who wants to visit every terrifying haunted maze and ride every stomach-dropping ride in the park, then we know every second matters. That is why we crafted the perfect food item for those on the go. This Turkey Leg Mac & Cheese Mug is absolutely perfect to eat on the fly. Enjoy the convenience and deliciousness of a BBQ rubbed turkey leg and creamy macaroni and cheese with every single bite while on the way to your next haunted attraction.

New Spooky Adult Beverages

Need a delicious beverage to go alongside your meal or as a little “confidence booster” to go inside the haunted mazes? Worlds of Fun has three new alcoholic beverages to help you unwind. Turn heads as you sip a delicious, fruity sangria out of a blood bag that conveniently opens and closes to prevent your jumpiness from spilling your juice. Worlds of Fun also has an assortment of fruity Overlord Cocktails served in a light-up souvenir Halloween Haunt cup to take home. Must be 21 or older with valid ID. Please drink responsibly.

With only two more weekends of Halloween Haunt, you only have a few more days to try these delicious new menu options! Stop by Cotton Blossom BBQ, which has become the most popular dining venue in the park, at your next visit. Still don't have tickets? Click here to get them today!
