2019 has come to a full stop, and the 2020 season is approaching the station. Before we ready our lap bars for another amazing adventure at Worlds of Fun, let’s take a look back at the most popular Kansas City attractions last year.

Which Attraction Do You Think Gave the Most Rides in 2019?

Before we dispatch, this list is based on total rides given (per rider) during the entire 2019 calendar year. There are some factors to consider, most importantly – rider capacity. This basically means how many riders can enjoy the attraction during one cycle.

1) Mamba - Once again, Mamba takes the top spot in 2019, and even surpassed the total number of rides it gave in 2018. This is the tallest, fastest and longest roller coaster at Worlds of Fun with a height of 205-feet, a total track length of 5,600-feet and speeds up to 75 mph.

2. Patriot

Patriot was just edged out by Mamba but still remains a fan favorite. This bonafide, star-spangled, inverted coaster features four inversions, including an 89-foot loop, a zero-G roll, an Immelmann and a corkscrew – all with speeds up to 65 mph. Check out the fresh new paint job on Patriot this season.

3. Prowler

It should be no surprise that Prowler is right up there with Mamba and Patriot. This wooden roller coaster was crowned “Worlds Best New Ride” when it debuted in 2009, and it’s still stalking satisfied thrill-seekers today. Expect a smoother ride in 2020 as improvements are being made throughout this beast’s 3,074-foot track.

4. Viking Voyager

Stand tall Vikings! This classic log flume ride opened with Worlds of Fun in 1973 and is likely the most ridden Kansas City attraction of all time. Its fleet of Viking themed boats make lines move fast, and its splashdown provides a refreshing treat during any visit to Worlds of Fun.

5. Timber Wolf

Rounding up the top 5 most popular rides in 2019 is Timber Wolf. While this classic wooden roller coaster has earned a reputation of being a little rough, continuous years of investments prove that you can teach an old dog new tricks. As of the 2020 season, almost all of Timber Wolf features a new and improved track. If you haven’t ridden it in a while, give it another shot.

Honorable Mentions – Other Popular Kansas City Attractions at Worlds of Fun

Just outside the top five are some very deserving attractions. While they may lack the rider capacity of some of the coasters, they are equally beloved by park goers and should always be added to your Worlds of Fun agenda.

Fury of the Nile – This refreshing rapid ride is always a good move when you’re looking for adventure with friends. With some added theming in 2019, guests continued to embark on this ride’s 1,800-foot journey last season.

Cyclone Sam’s – Home to the Cloud Poofer 2000, this indoor vortex packs a powerful spin that can accommodate up to 40 riders per cycle. It barely surpassed Mustang Runner as Worlds of Fun’s most popular flat ride in 2019.

Most Popular Rides in Planet Snoopy

You know we couldn’t leave off our most popular kids' rides. When it comes to fun things to do with kids in Kansas City, Planet Snoopy is the top dog.

  1. Woodstock Gliders
  2. Rocket Express
  3. Lucy’s Tugboat
  4. PEANUTS 500
  5. Snoopy vs Red Baron

Young guests enjoy a ride on Woodstock Gliders, one of the most popular Kansas City attractions if you're looking for fun things to do with kids.

What are your favorite Kansas City attractions at Worlds of Fun? Luckily, it will be time to ride in no time!
