Worlds of Fun Announces Opening Date for Zambezi Zinger

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (May 11, 2023) – Worlds of Fun today announced important dates for the grand opening of the highly anticipated Zambezi Zinger roller coaster.

The First Rider Expedition benefiting Big Slick is scheduled for the morning of Thursday, May 25. Thirty-two lucky winners for the First Rider competition were drawn from a pool of nearly 1,000 entrants and contacted at the beginning of April. They will be the first public riders of Zambezi Zinger.

Later that day, the park will also host an exclusive Season Passholder Preview experience from 6-10 p.m. Passholders will have their turn to ride Zambezi Zinger before it opens to the general public. Most other park attractions also will be operating, including favorites like MAMBA and Patriot.

Zambezi Zinger will then open to the general public on Friday, May 26, when the park opens at 11 a.m.

Zambezi Zinger is a steel-wood hybrid roller coaster designed by Great Coasters International and features two groundbreaking pieces of technology: dynamic Infinity Flyer trains from Skyline Attractions and GCI Titan Track. The new Zambezi Zinger will take guests on a thrilling journey, dropping guests from an iconic spiral lift hill into a low-to-the-ground track that races through the trees and terrain of the African Serengeti.
