Party for a Purpose: Worlds of Fun Employees Celebrate the Third Annual Purpose Awards

On a sunny Wednesday in March, the Worlds of Fun staff made their way to Chicken N Pickle, a local venue with pickleball courts, to celebrate the annual Purpose Awards. During this outing, full-time and part-time employees enjoyed a chicken buffet, an exciting raffle of Coca-Cola products, and an afternoon of pickleball and other yard games while celebrating their fellow coworkers.
The Purpose Awards were created in 2022 by The Soul of Cedar Fair, as the first of many initiatives focused on recognizing associates. Two years later, it is a celebration that all Cedar Fair employees fondly look forward to just before the start of a new season.
The winners of the Purpose Awards are chosen through nominations submitted by fellow associates. Those nominated for the Purpose Award demonstrate each of the following criteria:
- Demonstrating care and genuine interest about people
- Inspiring others to create happiness for others
- Bringing people together
- Turning negative situations into a positive experience for all
This year, Worlds of Fun had 29 employees nominated for the award, one of which had four separate nominations from coworkers! Our local committee had the tough decision of narrowing those 29 nominees down to three winners. These winners all go above and beyond to demonstrate Cedar Fair’s Purpose: to make people happy!
