Halloween HAUNT and Great Pumpkin Fest Arrive at Worlds of Fun

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (September 12, 2022) – Spooky season arrives at Worlds of Fun this weekend, with the opening of Halloween Haunt on Friday, September 16 and Great Pumpkin Fest on Saturday, September 17. Haunt runs through Saturday, October 29 and Great Pumpkin Fest runs through Sunday, October 30. This year will feature new and improved mazes and scare zones at Haunt, as well as fall activities for thrill seekers and families alike.

Halloween HAUNT
This year’s HAUNT transforms the park into the stuff of nightmares, filled with thrilling attractions and stunning night rides on the park’s roller coasters and thrill rides. With over 400 monsters, six mazes, five outdoor scare zones and plenty of live entertainment, this year’s HAUNT is loaded with thrills.

New for HAUNT in 2022:

Malice in Wonderland (Europa): Alice has awoken from her dream only to find herself in a new nightmare. Her once happy world has descended into madness and the most horrible elements of Wonderland have infiltrated her world…and her mind.

Fear Ground (Tivoli Music Hall): Step right up! The fair is in town! Tour this dilapidated fairground and see what these wicked carnies and demented clowns have in store for you.

Fright Zone (Africa): Do you know what lurks in the fog? From bone-chilling skeletons to creatures from your worst nightmare, this walk-through scare zone will raise the hairs on the back of your neck.

Halloween HAUNT runs select nights from September 16-October 29 from 6:00 p.m. to park close. Admission is included with a Season Pass or daily ticket. HAUNT is not recommended for children under the age of 13. Most park rides and attractions will be in operation. Guests are not permitted to attend the event in costume.

Great Pumpkin Fest
Family friendly Halloween fun with Snoopy and the PEANUTS gang returns Saturday, September 17 with the Great Pumpkin Fest, featuring scare-free attractions, live shows, costume parties, trick-or-treating and more.

Attractions include:

Trick or Treat in Wonderland (Europa): The PEANUTS gang have picked some of their favorite tricks and treats to share! Kids can wear their costumes and trick or treat inside Europa on Saturdays and Sundays.

Count Snooptacula’s Costume Contest: Smaller ghouls and goblins are invited to show off their costume creations in Planet Snoopy. Kids 12 and under are invited to join the fun.

Linus’ Pumpkin Patch & Bale Maze: Weave your way through a twisting path of hay bales and cornstalks. Kids ages 12 and under can choose their own mini-gourd to take home as a spooktacular keepsake! (limit one pumpkin per guest)

Pigpen’s Creepy Crafts & Coloring: Display your creative best with Halloween-themed crafts and coloring. Showcase your artistic flair and take home your crafts.

Great Pumpkin Fest is included with admission to the park and runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, September 17 to October 30. For more information on Great Pumpkin Fest attractions, tickets and hours, visit worldsoffun.com/events/great-pumpkin-fest.

Bag Policy and Re-Entry
To increase safety and provide efficient entry into the park during Halloween HAUNT, guests will be asked to adhere to a new policy which states that no bags of any kind larger than 6.5” x 4.5” x 2” may be brought into the park after 6 p.m. on HAUNT nights. All bags will be subject to search. Re-entry will not be permitted after 6 p.m. on HAUNT nights.
