8 Water Park Tips for Oceans of Fun

School is out, the weather is hot and Oceans of Fun is NOW OPEN! We are just as excited as you are, but before you come to the park to cool off and splash around, we have eight water park tips for Oceans of Fun to make your experience at the park as amazing as possible.

1) Plastic Bags

Plastic bags? What does this have to do with Oceans of Fun? Well, plastic bags are the perfect accessory for your phone to keep it dry throughout the day! Plus, your touchscreen will work through the plastic; however, you still shouldn't bring your phone into the wave pool. Heavier duty options are also available in Bender’s Surf Shop, and lockers are also available for rental.

2) First to Arrive, First to Slide

Having a Gold or Platinum Pass at Worlds of Fun has LOADS of perks. One of these great perks is 15-minute early entry into Worlds of Fun AND 30-minute early entry into Oceans of Fun! That means you can claim your favorite spot and lounge chair to start your adventure before we even open.

3) Sunscreen

Sunscreen…early and often. There’s no doubt that you will be getting lots of sun throughout your visit, so don’t let a sunburn bring you down. Apply when you arrive, and reapply as needed throughout the day. Forgot to bring some? Don’t worry! Stop by Bender’s Surf Shop on your way in the park to pick some up.

4) Footwear

While we try to keep walkways cool with sprinklers, some areas of the concrete can get warm. Wearing swim shoes or flip flops is a great way to protect your feet. These items are also available in Bender’s Surf Shop if you forgot your pair at home!  Make sure to bring close-toed shoes to ride rides in Worlds of Fun, and don’t forget - you'll also need a shirt and shorts before entering.

5) Hydration is Key

Nothing makes you thirstier than playing around in the water all day. Make sure you have plenty of drinking water handy throughout your visit. Unopened water bottles are allowed through our gates but remember that coolers are not permitted. There are also drinking fountains and drink stations with free cups of water for your convenience.

6) Life Vests, Inner Tubes and Other Accessories

While bringing Coast Guard certified life vests is permitted in Oceans of Fun, we do not recommend you bring them as we provide complimentary life vests for guests of all sizes! Inner tubes are also provided inside of the park and are attraction-specific. Because of this, personal inner tubes are NOT permitted. Other NOT permitted accessories include water toys, inflatable assists, masks and snorkels.

7) Have it Made in the Shade

Looking for a day of complete relaxation and luxury? Oceans of Fun offers three different types of cabana rentals for you and four friends. Cabanas are a tropical oasis that allow you and your friends or family to have it made in the shade during your visit to Oceans of Fun. If you have more than four people, you can bring up to four additional guests for just $10 more per person!
