'Tis the season for charitable giving, and Worlds of Fun had the opportunity to work with some great organizations during WinterFest. Take a look, and see how you can help support the impactful work these partners do for our community in Kansas City.
Tuesday, November 27 was #GivingTuesday, and Worlds of Fun spent the day delivering smiles with Snoopy at Children’s Mercy Hospital. In addition to making the rounds and making new friends, our associates also assembled and donated Happy Kits, which are care packages used in a variety of areas throughout the hospital and clinics to make the patients and families feel welcome and happy during their visit. Contents included coloring materials, headphones, stickers, activity books and reading material.

Toys for Tots
During December, the associates of Worlds of Fun took part in a toy drive from Toys for Tots of Greater Kansas City, which is a U.S. Marine Corps Reserve program that collects and distributes unwrapped toys to less fortunate children in the community. Toys are accepted during October, November and December, but monetary donations are accepted in a variety of ways year-round.

Boys and Girls Club of Greater Kansas City
On Thursday, December 20, Worlds of Fun welcomed hundreds of children and family members from the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Kansas City for a night of festive fun at WinterFest. The night was kicked off with a special Tree Lighting Ceremony with Vanesa R. doing the honors of flipping the switch on our 70-foot tree. Vanesa was named Youth of the Year at the Boys & Girls Club of Kansas City and was a regional finalist for the Boys and Girls Club of America’s National Youth of the Year competition. The group finished the night with a catered meal and a night of WinterFest fun!

Variety Children’s Charity of Greater Kansas City provides children with developmental disabilities the adaptive equipment and opportunities needed for activity and inclusion. This includes building accessible parks in our community, so every kid has the opportunity to go outside and play. We recently made a monitory donation to this great organization and will honor them during this Sunday's Tree Lighting Ceremony.
