Food is the culmination of culture, and during Grand Carnivale, your tastebuds will be sent on a jetpacking journey around the world. The 23-night international festival will transform the park into an all-encompassing celebration of China, France, Germany, India and Italy. Each country will be featured in a different section of the park, and as guests explore, they’ll be treated with authentic tastes from each.
The Worlds of Fun culinary team is introducing 15 special food selections that will be available at food stands in each section of the park. Each country will also have a selection of wine and beer to pair with each signature dish.
China: Bold Flavors and Complimentary Combinations
Szechuan Beef Bao Bun – steamed bun with Gochujang glazed beef short rib and pickled cabbage.
Emperor’s Chinese Spare Rib – slow cooked chili-rubbed pork ribs, glazed with sweet sticky sauce.
Chinese Donuts – golden fried dough, rolled in cinnamon sugar and served with sweet coconut sauce.
France: Renowned Precision and Elevated Sweetness
Crepe Monsieur – ham and gruyere crepe topped with Bechamel sauce.
Crepe Fraise and Chocolate – filled with Nutella and sliced strawberries.
Profiteroles – delicate cream puff filled with Chantilly cream, dusted with powdered sugar and drizzled with chocolate sauce.
Germany: Robust and Hearty with Nurturing Richness
Bratwurst with Kraut – beer braised brat, served with homemade kraut on a crusty roll.
Bier Kase Spätzle – Bavarian noodles, tossed in creamy beer cheese sauce and topped with crispy onions.
Apple Strudel – sautéed cinnamon apples with brown sugar, Schlagshn (whipped cream) and crispy strudel crown.
India: Unique Richness with a Creative Variety of Flavors
Vegetable Samosas – crispy pastry filled with potato and peas, served with mango chutney.
Tandoori Chicken Tacos – spiced chicken over toasted Naan, garnished with cilantro, radish and yogurt sauce.
Banana Baji – sweet curry batter dipped fried banana dusted with chocolate sugar.
Italy: Rustic Seasoning with Savory Gusto
Mama’s Meatballs – simmered in Marinara, served on garlic toast with shaved parmesan.
Roman Suppli – fried rice balls, stuffed with cheese, pepper and served with marinara sauce.
Cannoli – crunchy rolled pastry shell, filled with sweetened ricotta, garnished with chocolate chips and crushed pistachio pieces.
Grand Carnivale Tasting Card
Guests can enjoy a culinary tour with a Grand Carnivale Tasting Card, which will be available for purchase in the park, online or on the Worlds of Fun mobile app. It includes six tastings of your choice, and provides the best value and experience as you eat your way around the world.
Grand Carnivale will debut at Worlds of Fun on July 13 through August 4. Admission is included with park admission or with your 2019 Gold Season Pass. Similar in scope to Halloween Haunt and WinterFest, guests can expect a fully immersive experience that transforms the park. In addition to food, each county’s section will feature signature adult beverages, live music, authentic performances, interactive entertainment, crafts and a whole lot of energy.
