Now in the event’s third season at Worlds of Fun, WinterFest is a “can’t miss” holiday event in Kansas City. On select nights from November 23 through December 31, the park goes all out with the city’s largest collection of lights and décor, plus live shows, local artisan shopping, horse-drawn carriage rides, ice skating and more!

If you haven’t experienced Worlds of Fun’s magical wonderland, here’s a quick guide to some of the fanciful experiences and Christmas activities that await during WinterFest!

Over 5 Million Lights

Over 5 million lights and miles of festive décor stretch through 10 different themed areas during WinterFest. The park glows under the shimmering lights, truly an experience to behold. You won’t find a more extravagant display in all of Kansas City.

70-ft Christmas Tree

Located just inside the entrance, a gorgeous 70-foot tree serves as the epicenter of WinterFest. Each night at 5:30 p.m., performers gather around to officially kick off the night’s festivities during our tree lighting ceremony. After flipping the giant switch, you’ll be dazzled as thousands of bulbs light up and snow falls from the sky!

A night at WinterFest is packed with holiday family activities. Take a carriage ride through the lights, ice skate on Snow Flake Lake, decorate cookies with Mrs. Claus, visit Charlie Brown’s Christmas Tree Lot, write a letter to Santa in the North Pole Post Office or dance the night away at the Coca-Cola Polar Bear Plaza. You can also shop local by browsing the work of our featured artisans. There are a total of 12 special holiday attractions for families to enjoy.

Live Shows

The best way to spread holiday cheer is to sing loud for all the hear! WinterFest features Worlds of Fun’s largest live entertainment lineup. With stages located throughout the park, it’s hard to miss the season’s spirit.

Special Food & Drinks

Forget everything you think you know about traditional “amusement park food.” The Worlds of Fun culinary team really raises the bar with a holiday menu and special WinterFest offerings throughout the park. Prime rib, holiday egg rolls and festive funnel cakes are just a few of the treats that will have you leaving with dreams of sugar plum fairies.

Delicious food is only a small part of makes WinterFest one of the best things to do for Christmas!
