Halloween HAUNT at Worlds of Fun Reawakens on September 13

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (August 19, 2024) – Worlds of Fun today announced the return of the Midwest’s Largest Halloween Celebration, Halloween HAUNT, on Friday, September 13. The park undergoes its terrifying transformation once again this fall, unearthing seven bone-chilling haunted mazes, four menacing scare zones, and sinister live shows all night long.

Halloween HAUNT returns to a single-ticket event! Once again, admission tickets allow Worlds of Fun guests to enjoy daytime family fun including the all-new, family-friendly Tricks and Treats festival, plus ghastly frights when the sun goes down, without having to exit and re-enter the park.

Halloween HAUNT
Beginning Friday, September 13 at 6 p.m., the Overlord transforms the park into a horrifying, bloody nightmare. The nighttime event includes hair-raising night rides, haunted mazes, scare zones, and spooky live shows that run all night long. Park closing hours vary by day, so Worlds of Fun encourages guests to check closing times or else risk becoming a permanent addition to the Overlord’s collection of souls. Haunt runs on select Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays until October 26.  

NEW for HAUNT in 2024:
Shadowmoor Cemetery: In honor of Lore of the Vampire’s 20th anniversary, Worlds of Fun invites guests to explore the recently exhumed Shadowmoor Cemetery in East Asia. This rotted mausoleum features over-the-top photo ops, gory specialty characters, and mysteries lurking around every corner.
Abyss: A safari adventure has gone horribly wrong. A long-lost caravan of money-hungry scientists and treasure hunters turned dark and sinister after they dug too deep in the jungles of Africa.
Ghost Train: Join the undead conductor and engineer as they spin gruesome tales of their afterlife gone off the rails. This midway attraction can be found in the Wild West just beyond Country Junction.

Tricks and Treats (NEW in 2024)
Experience Worlds of Fun like never before at Tricks and Treats, our all-new, family-friendly daytime Halloween event. Celebrate the season with mischievous tricks, tasty treats and so much more.

Everyone in the family is sure to have a boo-last with our spooky, kooky Halloween activities for kids and adults. Come dressed in your finest Halloween attire for our Halloween costume contest. Plus, we’ve got skeleTONS of delicious seasonal treats, drinks, and of course, candy!

Little ones and their families will adventure into the Trick-or-Treat Trail, featuring six unique stops where kids can show off their costumes and stuff their trick-or-treat bags full of candy from spooky and charming characters.

As always, Halloween HAUNT, Tricks and Treats, and daytime admission are included for 2024 Gold and All-Park Passport season passes. In addition, 2025 Gold season passes are now on sale at worldsoffun.com. Guests who purchase a 2025 Gold Pass receive unlimited visits for the rest of 2024 and 2025. The passes are currently on sale at the lowest price of the season on the Worlds of Fun website. 

Worlds of Fun’s chaperone policy will remain in effect for Halloween HAUNT. All guests age 15 years or younger must be accompanied by a chaperone who is at least 21 years old to be admitted to, or remain in the park, for Halloween HAUNT. This policy will be in effect by 4:00 p.m. local time. Worlds of Fun reserves the right to enforce the Chaperone Policy earlier on any given day.

Additionally, Worlds of Fun’s bag policy will be in effect at 6 p.m. Re-entry to the park is not allowed after 6 p.m. For more information on these policies, please visit this page.
